It's no secret that movies have a big impact on the Halloween costume business. Just look at Star Wars, Pirates of the Caribbean, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter and The Ninja Turtles just to name a few from past years that have really outdone themselves when it comes to great characters for children and adults alike to portray on Halloween for years and years to come. This year, as with years past, the big summer blockbuster movies always throw out a few characters that kids are already lining up to "be" for trick-or-treating. Iron Man and Speed Racer are two that instantly come to mind. In its first week Iron Man rocked the box office grossing an estimated $102 million and apparently there are already talks of a sequel. Needless to say we'll be seeing a lot of Iron Man wannabe's running around Halloween night! Speed Racer comes out Friday, May 9th but already I hear the buzz surrounding it is pretty good.
Here are just a few of the big summer blockbuster movies being released this year that will definitely be huge costume sellers over the coming months:

Hellboy II: The Golden Army - "Humanity's Only Hope"
The Dark Knight - "Gotham Needs You"
Horton Hears a Who - "One Elephant, One World, One Story"
The Incredible Hulk - "Our Only Hope is Something Incredible"
However, even though the most current movies always bring a fresh face to costumes there are still the "tried and true" classic slasher films that you still see every year during the Halloween season:
Halloween - Michael Myers
Nightmare on Elm Street - Freddy Krueger
Friday the 13th - Jason
Chainsaw Massacre - Leatherhead
I'm anxious to see what character with all these great movies coming out will be hard to keep on the shelves this year!
