The Incredible Hulk was a super hero who gained his powers as the result of an accidental exposure to high-intensity gamma radiation. Incredible Hulk, like his alter-ego Bruce Banner, is a kind and gentle person who cares a great deal for humanity. In fact, Banner was saving the life of a young teenager who trespassed onto a bomb testing site and almost died in an explosion. Banner, saved the youth, but in the process exposed his body to an unbelievable amount of gamma rays. Bruce Banner looked the same, acted the same, and seemed to be the same. However, he later realized that during periods of stress or provocation he changed into an entirely different persona. The small, timid scientist became a seven-foot, half-ton weapon of destruction. Nothing seemed able to stop the Incredible Hulk during these tantrums of rage. The Incredible Hulk demolished cities, and overcame obstacles from coast-to-coast.
The Incredible Hulk's special powers include the ability to jump up to three miles at a time. He has a high resistance level to pain, disease and injuries. The Incredible Hulk's skin can endure very hot and cold temperatures and is immune to all diseases currently found on Earth. All these things considered, the Incredible Hulk is able to be hurt, and he has been injured by a near-hit with a nuclear warhead.
The Incredible Hulk has been both a solo crime fighter and a team player as part of a crime fighting team called The Defenders. As one of the most recognizable, and best loved Marvel super heroes of all time, the Incredible Hulk teaches lessons of being kind, caring, smart and encourages success in math and science. The Incredible Hulk has not only had his own comic book series, but he has been in several televisions series and guest starred in other super heroes' comic books as well. The Incredible Hulk, with his can do attitude, makes a great party theme for any childhood get-together.
